Self Lock Safety Stop Block

Ensures a very  SAFE and Tamper Free method of preventing Rolling Stock to enter RESTRICTED and UN-AUTHORIZED AREAS such as Shaft Stations, Vent Doors, Refuge Bays, Waiting Places and Workshops.

The SELF-LOCK STOP BLOCK consists of:


A Self Locking Stop Block (with free moving, gravity operated locking mechanism)


A Stop Block Base which is permanently fixed (concreted in between the rails)


A Stop Block Key that unlocks the Self Locking Stop Block before it can be REMOVED from its concrete covered base

When the Stop Block is dropped into the base assembly a free moving Locking Mechanism locks the stop block into position which prevents the stop block to be removed without a key.

Vula-Vala Shaft Station Twin Stop Block

The Vula-Vala Shaft Station Twin Stop Block is a two Safety Stop Block system that provides Double Protection from any Rolling Stock entering the Shaft uncontrolled

The Vula-Vala Shaft Station Twin Stop Block is operated Pneumatically or Hydraulically with  a Removable Handle for Manual operation. This system was designed to use the forces of Gravity and Momentum to assist with an almost effortless, easy and smooth manual switching of the two stop blocks

The interlinked rotary actuator lifts the one stop block into active position while lowering the other stop block to inactive position ensuring that there will always be a Stop Block in position in front of the shaft gates

Auto Lock Shaft Stop Block

The semi-automatic Auto Lock Stop Block automatically swivels and locks itself into the active “up” position when the operating Removable Handle is removed

This system was designed to use the forces of Gravity and Momentum to assist with an almost effortless, easy and smooth manual lowering of the stop block and to Automatically lift the stop block into active position

It is manually lowered into the inactive “down” position by unlocking the Stop Block with a Key and lowering the Stop Block with a Removable Handle and can also be locked in the inactive "down" position

Stop Block Control

The Auto Lock Shaft Station Stop Block can also be controlled HYDRAULICALLY or PNEUMATICALLY and can be Interlinked with the Shaft Call Bell System which will prevent the Onsetter to operate the Shaft Call Bell System if the stop block is not in active position
